Job summary

As Learning Associate Director, youll initiate, execute, and monitor a range of strategies for Learning and Development initiatives (L&D). Youll be responsible for business groups, service lines, national initiatives, and industry-specific learning programs. Youll lead project teams, and manage stakeholder expectations, communications, budgets and schedules. By directly managing your team, and working with sponsors or stakeholders, youll deliver high quality work on time, meeting client objectives.

In this role, youll receive general direction on goals and objectives. Youll delegate appropriate project responsibilities and tasks, and directly manage and/or counsel others, including reviewing their performance.

Responsibilities

* Help develop strategies for key L&D initiatives and processes. Recommend priorities for the function
* Develop strategies and methodologies for assessing learning needs, and discuss these with business leaders and managers. Implement these approaches to arrive at the appropriate programs
* Develop and manage the scope and schedule for L&D initiatives. These will be of varying complexity, for multiple internal customers. Plan and assign resources (e.g., subject matter resources, instructors, instructional designers, project managers) to tasks and deliverables. Manage resources, tasks and costs, in accordance with established Ernst & Young learning standards (e.g., Ernst & Young Global development standards, initiative guidelines) and within timelines
* Direct project teams members (virtual, matrix) to implement L&D initiatives. Help and mentor other team members, to improve collaboration and knowledge sharing
* Help business leaders and managers address particular learning needs, by finding and working with external resources (e.g., vendors supplying information, expert speakers)
* Coordinate business, national practice, industry and service line learning initiatives. This should avoid redundant resources, share leading practices, and increase collaboration
* Develop relationships with stakeholders, managing their expectations. Negotiate with and influence sponsors and stakeholders, to overcome any issues that arise within specific learning initiatives
* Create and maintain project documentation (reporting, meeting minutes, process documentation, etc.) for projects of varying complexity
* Apply recognized principles and concepts to a wide range of work. This includes developing strategies and methodologies within L&D.
* Manage project scope variance(s), anticipate time and budget overruns, and communicate any project challenges
* Anticipate problems before they occur, identify possible causes, and work with group members to overcome them
* Gain awareness of firm policies and protocols
* Develop in-depth knowledge of the service line and Ernst & Young L&D processes
Knowledge and skills requirements

* Good listening and communication skills (writing, speaking, presenting, listening, responding)

* Competent at leading, adapting quickly to change, and building consensus across diverse, often global, groups
* Proficient at organizing, directing and motivating teams
* Adept at managing multiple large, complex projects (establishing plans, determining priorities, defining the processes and steps to achieve objectives)
* Strong problem-solving skills
* A solid understanding of learning principles, firm objectives, and needs analysis
* Strong negotiation/mediation and influencing skills.
* Relationship building skills; ability to work with various levels of management
* Strong people management skills, with a focus on firm culture and values
Experience
* A minimum of 10-12 years experience in a professional, office environment
* Experience in managing learning and organization development initiatives

Education

* Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience
