The Township of Langley is currently recruiting for up to two temporary full-time (from approx. August 19, 2013 to approx. November 29, 2013) Instrument Person IIs to join our team of professionals in the Engineering Division, Public Works Engineering Services Department.
Reporting to the Instrument Person III you will be responsible in this unionized position for performing survey work to collect the data required for the planning, design and construction of all municipal engineering projects; performing technical drafting Civil 3D assignments regarding field surveys, and planning the daily and weekly activities of the survey crew as needed.
Your education will include an Engineering Technician Certificate in Survey Technology plus some related experience, or an equivalent of training and experience. Ability to supervise subordinates, providing suitable training as needed for them; thorough knowledge of all aspects of municipal engineering survey work; and above average skill in the use of simple and complex survey instruments and equipment is necessary. A valid BC Class 5 (full-privilege) drivers license is required.
The CUPE rate of pay for this position is $28.14 $33.14 per hour (2011 rates) plus 12% in lieu of benefits. The hours of work are Monday to Friday 8:00am 4:30pm.
