Job summary
As General Management Supervising Associate, youll develop and implement organizational strategic plans, and monitor financial and operational performance. Calling on your knowledge of professional services firms, youll manage Ernst & Youngs knowledge, processes and capital resources, including space and equipment. Youll lead and develop individuals and teams using appropriate people management processes and tools. These will include staffing, training, supervising, coaching, and performance management.
Youll also be expected to handle customer service challenges and maintain strong customer relationships. Youll receive direction rather than direct supervision, and for some activities, such as complex projects, youll be required to work independently.
Responsibilities
* Set up full project plans including objectives, milestones, priorities, team, timelines and deliverables
* Proactively develop business by initiating discussions with existing clients on possible additional work
* Coordinate and help with budget planning, and operate within the approved budget
* Serve internal clients by partnering with other groups within the matrix organization, cultivating relationships, aligning people and processes, and identifying workplace efficiencies
* Anticipate customer needs, and follow up to confirm that internal customers are completely satisfied
* Create a knowledge transfer culture within the team
* Participate on national or Area projects
* Develop an understanding of the key business and financial drivers that determine Ernst & Youngs success
* Exercise influence at many levels of the firm
* Proactively identify and address project risks and opportunities
* Identify alternative approaches, when necessary
* Supervise small to mid-sized teams within a location or department
* Help team and colleagues understand the bigger picture of technical, ethical and financial issues
Knowledge and skills requirements
* English language skills excellent written and verbal communication
* Attention to detail, with good organizational skills
* Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
* Skilled in managing and counseling people
* Confident at working with all levels within the firm, building solid relationships with multiple internal groups
* Deep knowledge in a discipline and broad knowledge of related disciplines
* Knowledge of all Microsoft Office tools, with Lotus Notes experience preferred
Experience
* Project management experience
* A minimum of 6-8 years experience in a related role
* A minimum of 2 years experience of managing people
Education
* Bachelors degree in a related discipline, or equivalent work experience
