The Research Scientist will lead the development of statistical software and/or prototype systems as well as serve on a multi-discipline team of scientist to develop an integrated data warehouse and analytic system. This role will also:
Provide experimental design and analysis consultation to scientists.
Perform statistical analyses on various field experiments using advanced statistical models.
Elaborate derived datasets from internal central databases for further analyses.
Perform quality control checks on these derived datasets.
Work with other statisticians to continuously enhance our existing statistical methods and to develop new ones.
May serve on teams appropriate to specific research projects. Keep updated on the most recent developments in statistics by participating in professional meetings and career development activities.
Skills:
The Research Scientist role requires a Masters degree in statistics or scientific related field and minimum of 6 to 8 years of industry related experience is required. A PhD with 2 to 4 years of related experience is preferred or equivalent amounts of relevant education and experience.
Comprehensive knowledge of mixed-effect models, multivariate statistics and data visualization required. Established competencies in at least two of SAS, S-PLUS/R or ASReml. Knowledge of SQL a plus. Knowledge of C++, Fortran or Visual Basic a plus. Strong communication skills and proven ability to work in a scientific team.
