SUMMARY
The Electrician is responsible for troubleshooting and identifying root-cause issues, repairing or replacing parts and rewiring and installing related instrument/electrical goods at the biorefinery. The Electrician ensures that all work performed is in compliance with local and national electrical codes and tests, inspects and repairs issues when they occur. Team members in this position will communicate any problems or concerns to the management team. The Electrician is also responsible for reviewing all electrical procedures for the biorefinery, assisting in developing pertinent electrical programs and training team members. Continuous plant operation includes 24/7 schedules. Team member must be able to meet call-in requirements as needed.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS/COMPETENCIES

To perform the essential functions of this position successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous educational training and/or certification in electronics and/or instrument/electrical required.
  • Two (2) to three (3) years extensive work experience in electronics, electrical wiring and instrument/electronic/electrical troubleshooting is required.
  • Knowledge of ladder logic is required.
  • Forklift certification (or ability to achieve) required as well as a valid drivers license with proof of insurance.
  • Calibration, configuration and repair of measurement/control instruments for flow, level, pressure, temperature, and pH including associated valves and valve actuators.
  • 110V AC and 24V DC discrete control wiring troubleshooting in a PLC/DCS environment required.
  • The following competencies are preferred:
  • The ability to operate a man lift, forklift, lulls and genies
  • PLC/DCS I/O troubleshooting
  • Journeymen/Master license
  • Power systems up to 4160v 3 phase
  • Allen Bradley Knowledge: RS Linx, RS logics, Panel Builder
  • Conduit bending
  • Generator operations
  • Switch house operations
  • Vendor knowledge
  • Power systems up to 4160v 3 phase and 13,800 Volt
  • 4-20 mA analog control wiring and troubleshooting in a PLC/DCS environment
  • VFD knowledge to include GE, Toshiba and ABB
  • Understanding of NEC Codes
  • Knowledge in Word, Excel and Outlook and the ability and willingness to learn new software applications is required.
  • Excellent organizational skills, communications skills, the ability to multi-task, and most importantly, the ability to work well in a team.
