Responsibilities:
Provides fracturing designs, operations support, regulatory guidance and detailed cost estimates
Actively participates in Cross-Functional Team meetings and leads the Cross-Functional Team in developing specific fracturing objectives and plans for completions.
Identifies and evaluates appropriate offset wells. Leads internal completion reviews and risk assessments for assigned wells.
Works in conjunction with service company personnel to ensure stimulation treatment recommendations are appropriate. Works with the Completion Engineer on completion procedures. Optimizes fracture designs and treatments. Documents all well design changes using the Management of Change process.
Provides technical support on fracturing operations and is the primary contact for field issues. Performs site supervision as required.
Serves as technical representative for the Company in external forums. Networks with other industry experts in the area of fracturing in order to improve Companys performance.
Provides internal and external benchmarking and end-of-well reports for fracturing related services. Coordinates and communicates end of well reviews.
Evaluates fracturing activities against pre-established targets, and makes recommendations for improvement based on analysis.
Works in a fast-paced work environment with an emphasis on timely delivery, cost effectiveness, interactive work style and sound execution
Responsible for technical specifications in tenders preparation for fracturing services, analyzing vendor response, awarding contracts, on-boarding contractors.
Ensures that Talisman maintains a competitive advantage through the effective use of technical innovations
Manages, along with the relevant SCM Specialist, contractor performance for fracturing related contracts
Has an intimate understanding of, and active participation in HSE Management System. Is accountable for knowledge of and compliance with all applicable regulations and Company HSE training requirements and policies
Qualifications:
B.Sc. in Engineering or related discipline with 10 to 15 yrs of fracturing experience
Detailed knowledge of fracturing fluid systems, proppants, pressure pumping equipment, and modeling software. Competent with relevant fracturing engineering software
Practical knowledge of completion design
Practical knowledge of well control
Strong technical understanding around planning and execution of various different hydraulic fracturing techniques.
Prior experience in Unconventional/Tight Oil & Gas Plays considered an asset
Visibly demonstrated personal and company HSE commitment
Skilled at working in a highly collaborative manner with Superintendents, Completion Foremen and G&G personnel
